Many people in the United States are not Christian and do not know what the Bible says regarding moral and ethical conduct for humans. They either went to church and didn’t pay attention or grew up with a Bible put away in a basement somewhere but never went to church. There are also immigrants from other nations who are Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim or Atheist who came to the United States so that they can become a Citizen and enjoy their 1st amendment rights to freedom of religion. They often do not want to be harassed to switch religions or to pay voluntary taxes called tithes to a religious institution that has no authority over their lives.
Finally, there is the issue of those that practice witchcraft and whose family has been in the United States for close to or over 400 years. Their religion is not open to the public, you have to receive an invitation to attend their services and they are often selective about who they invite.

The United States Constitution also allows US Citizens to carry weapons for the purpose of self defense. The Bible forbids growing angry however and it does not permit murder or homicide, even in self defense. It would therefore be legal and lawful for a US Citizen to carry a weapon however, it would be be Biblically unethical and immoral for a Christian to use a weapon in self defense and commit a homicide in the process. It is not illegal to not carry a weapon however and it is not illegal to call the police when there is trouble or danger. While calling the police may violate the code of ethics for criminal gangs, a Christian would not be subject to following that code since a Christian can not engage in illegal or unlawful behavior. A Christian would only be required to follow US Laws and Legislation and the Ethics and Morals Guidelines set by their Bible so it is always legal and moral for a Christian to run and hide and/or call the police when in danger.
